The Case: Sustainable Fishing

One of the biggest problems in the world at this moment is the fishery. Due to decreased fish stocks, unregistered and illegal fishery, and climate change one of the biggest food sources is threatened. That is why both the Common Fishery Policy of the EU and the secretary of state of the US are working on a new policy, where both environmental and economical sustainability should be maintained. Before such policy can be made, information is needed about the current situation. Which species are overfished? In which seas species are disappearing because of pollution? How can illegal fishing be discouraged? Answers on these questions can be found in data sets. Multiple data sets should be linked in order to get the right information.
